Norwich City 3-0 Huddersfield Town

NORWICH welcomed Lee Clark back to Carrow Road in the best possible way, with a 3-0 mauling of high flying Huddersfield Town.Although this score flattered the Canaries and was harsh on Huddersfield.

The Yorkshire side dominating early proceedings. EX SCUM duo Gary Roberts and Jordan Rhodes looked extremely dangerous throughout the first half.

Lambo evidently chucked tea cups around at half-time, because Norwich came out all guns blazing, and Wesley was his majestic self, first setting up Chris Martin. Martin has been in superb form this season, but here he missed when LITTERALLY my Nan could have scored. Next time Wesley decided to do it all himself, and he did with some style, firing into the bottom corner following brilliant work from Simon Lappin.

Seventeen minutes later Chris 'Mr Sitter' Martin attoned for his earlier error by coolly rapping up the points, after latching on to Wesley's inch perfect pass. The Doc added some gloss five minutes later with his fourth goal in three games.

This was a big win over promotion rivals, and lifts us to within four points of Charlton Athletic.

All even in a terrific game.

Yeovil Town 3-3 Norwich City.

HAVING paid tribute to Norwich's terrific defense in my last post. They then went on to embarrass me at Huish Park, conceding three goals. Although, the fact we did not lose is a bonus.

Ex scum Dean Bowditch headed Yeovil into the lead, and it was not looking good for Norwich, the fluidity in attack was strangely missing. 1-0 down at half-time.

On the hour mark Chris Martin tapped home from a 'GROLT' cross, and the Doc powered home a header five minutes later, and all was looking good again. We had found our battling spirit that had been missing for the majority of the game. Unfortunately, this did not last and Shaun Macdonald rattled in an equaliser two minutes later.

Yeovil thought they had won it when Spurs loanee Jon Obika stooped to break canary hearts a minute into injury time. Lambo's never say die attitude was again embedded into the team, and four minutes into added time, Russell Martin's shot was deflected in by THE DOC. 3-3

Solid Foundation

NORWICH CITY 2-0 OLDHAM ATHLETIC

Ever since the infamous 7-1 home drubbing to Colchester. Paul Lambert has inspired a turnaround in the Canaries camp.

This is largely due to a solid foundation, Fraser Forster has been faultless since the whole 'Heartbreak in Yorkshire' fiasco. Adam Drury seems back to his old self, superb defensively and very effective going forward, THE DOC is back playing like Franco Baresi, and with Jens Berthel-Askou has yet to miss a header since his arrival in summer. Whichever player has slotted in at right-back has done an extremely good job, whether it be Jon Otsemobor, Michael Spillane, George Francomb or loanee Russell Martin. ADD to that the all action style of 'Rusty' and you have an extremly strong base.

Its this strong foundation that means we can dispatch teams like Oldham with such ease. Unsuprsingly it was the deadly due THE GROLT and WESLEY that did for Oldham at Carrow Road. THE GROLT opened the scoring on 21 mins, nodding in from a tight angle from Chris Martin's cross.

Wes Hoolahan double the canaries lead on 32 mins, cutting in from the right to smash beyond Daryll Flahavan. The back line was again inpenetrable, if anything was to get through, Forster would snuff out any danger. Annother comfortable afternoon for everyone associated with the YELLOW AND GREEN ARMY.

Home Comforts

Norwich 2-0 Tranmere Rovers

It was nice to come home, following three straight away games.

Our beloved canaries welcomed the fans back to Carrow road by brushing aside a suprisingly strong and willful Tranmere Rovers side. A controversial penalty from Wes Hoolahan and a Kanu like volley from Gary 'the Doc' Doherty.

It was not always this easy, Fraser Forster saved brilliantly from Paul Mclaren. Ian Goodison also missed from right underneath the crossbar. Norwich rode their luck and finally got their chance when Adam Drury's shot cannoned onto John Welsh's arm. Penalty. Wes Hoolahan just does not miss from 12 yards. 1-0.

Hoolahan was again majestic throughout, and it was his perfectly accurate cross which was volleyed home superbly by THE DOC. 2-0, game safe.

Lambo has definaely got us firing, his decision to drop the Doc and wesley has clearly paid off, Lambo has created a strong attacking side, full of hungry players which has perhaps been missing in the last few years.

Mark of Champions

STOCKPORT 1-3 NORWICH CITY

AN OLD footballing cliche is that Champions can win when they are not playing their best, and this is exactly what my team in yellow and green did at Edgeley Park. Having missed the first half due to blue and white ticket based confusion. I arrived just as the half-time whistle went, with Norwich 1-0 to the good. A GROLT header, following a mistake from Stockport keeper Owain Fon-Williams.

This game was never going to be a classic. All head tennis and late challenges. Stockport played right into our hands launching high balls down the middle, which was food and drink for THE DOC, and the man mountain that is Jens Berthel-Askou. We were soon 2-0 up, Chris Martin taking a private bungee jump at Paul Huntingdon's expense, and giving us a Penalty. Which Wesley gratefully slotted home, then decided he fancied a booking and dived headlong into the away fans.

It was comfortable, this is the first away game I had ever been to that was comfortable. But as any Norwich fan knows, for us to win easily without giving the fans a little scare is impossible. So no one was really shocked when Carl Baker's effort deflected in off Peter Thompson, who was blatantly in an offside position. The nerves started jangling again.

There were a few hairy moments, but when Coby 'roadrunner' McDonald robbed 'Man of the Match' Michael Rose, and squared it to THE GROLT, who does not miss from six yards with no goalkeeper, the points were safe.

Thanks to wins from Carlisle and Millwall, Norwich have moved up to within four point of the top two.

The Lambo bandwagon rolls on.

Super Chris

Chris Martin continued his superb start to the season as Norwich recovered from their Yorkshire heartbreak with a comfortable 1-0 win over Swindon Town.

Martin poked home on 32 minutes following a knock-down from the Doc, to secure our victory. Pleasing though the win was, making Danny 'mind games' Wilson eat his own words brought a huge smile to everyone involved with the canaries. Cheers Danny.

Since bursting on the scene as a raw 18 year old, with four goals to stave of a slight threat of relegation at the end of the 06/07 season. Martin has failed to cement a first team place, so spent a character-building loan season at Luton, where Martin managed to score 11 goals, and even grab a goal at Wembley.

Since this, Chris has come back to Carrow Road in inspired form and has already bagged five goals this term. Four comming in the league againt MK Dons, Bristol Rovers, Swindon and Leyton Orient, and one in the Johnstone Paint Trophy against Brentford.

Now the sound of 'Super, Super Chrisy Martin' are back at Carrow Road and here to stay.

Martin, alongside Korey Smith and George Francomb started the game at home to Swindon, and with Declan Rudd and Tom Adeyemi playing regular roles this season. These are all the latest along the Norwich production line from the same academy that have produced talents such as Chris Sutton, Rob Green and Craig Bellamy in recent years.
