Wycombe Wanderers 0-1 Norwich City


NORWICH YOUNGSTER Korey Smith fired home with 13 minutes to go to hand the Canaries a deserved victory over Wycombe at Adams Park. The yellow and green army dominated the game throughout, and could have won by a far greater margin.

Simon Lappin, Russell Martin, Chris Martin and THE GROLT all found Wycombe 'keeper Scott Shearer in stunning form. Wycombe had clearly 'parked the bus' infront of the goal and would have been more than happy with a 0-0 draw.

MATT Phillips almost stole a lead when he latched onto Scott Davies' pass and smashed his shot against the post, only for it to rebound straight to Fraser Froster.

Moments later, WESLEY tied annother league one defender in knots, pulled the ball back to Smith, who slotted home.

Cue a huge sigh or relief with everyone who bleeds yellow and green. Norwich have finally leapfrogged Charlton. KEEP IT UP LAMBO'S ARMY!

Old Friends

Norwich City 3-0 Huddersfield Town

NORWICH welcomed Lee Clark back to Carrow Road in the best possible way, with a 3-0 mauling of high flying Huddersfield Town.Although this score flattered the Canaries and was harsh on Huddersfield.

The Yorkshire side dominating early proceedings. EX SCUM duo Gary Roberts and Jordan Rhodes looked extremely dangerous throughout the first half.

Lambo evidently chucked tea cups around at half-time, because Norwich came out all guns blazing, and Wesley was his majestic self, first setting up Chris Martin. Martin has been in superb form this season, but here he missed when LITTERALLY my Nan could have scored. Next time Wesley decided to do it all himself, and he did with some style, firing into the bottom corner following brilliant work from Simon Lappin.

Seventeen minutes later Chris 'Mr Sitter' Martin attoned for his earlier error by coolly rapping up the points, after latching on to Wesley's inch perfect pass. The Doc added some gloss five minutes later with his fourth goal in three games.

This was a big win over promotion rivals, and lifts us to within four points of Charlton Athletic.

Can't Stop Winning Under Lambo

Norwich 4-1 Brighton

The confidence at Carrow Road is so high these days, we go out expecting nothing more than three points, and this is exactly what we got against Brighton.

Norwich dispatched with a fairly competent Brighton side with ease. Ever since THE GROLT chipped in as early as the third minute the result never looked in doubt. 18 minutes later Wesley Hoolahan scored for the fourth league game running to double the lead.

Naturally for Norwich, there was a little wobble, James Tunnicliffe tapped home, having been set up by Glenn Murray. The Norwich team of last year would have gone on to draw this game, but only eight minutes later Simon Lappin's free-kick was bundled into his own net by the hapless Tommy Elphick. The points were safe. Chris Martin decided to get in on the act and make the score more respectable with a low drive from outside the box with eight minutes remaining.

This is very exciting times to be a Norwich fan, a team playing superb football, winning and scoring goals. Keep it up boys.

Heartbreak in Yorkshire

LEEDS 2-1 NORWICH CITY

THE WORD distraught is thrown around a lot these days, but this abjective describes perfectly how I felt walking out of a sparesly populated Elland Road, having outplayed and outfought a below par Leeds side, and come away with a big fat nothing.

Having arrived in Leeds expecting nothing, I witnessed a Norwich side playing with confidence, strength and attacking guile. Shane Higgs in the Leeds goal was soon forced into action by Rusty (Darrell Russell) who was at his combative best.

Then on 14 minutes, Leeds first meaningful attack produced a goal. Cue fickle Leeds fans going mental, and daggers from an angry Stone Island wearing steward. Then once surviving a few minutes where Leeds actually looked like league leaders, we refound our feet.


A superb low cross from Lappin was slid home by THE GROLT (Grant Holt). Who is currently playing like a love-child of Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer. Obviously this created the opportunity for the usual 'feed the horse and he will score' chants, which rang round Elland Road untill the ref blasted out his half-time whistle.

Having scoffed down a suprisingly agreeable Chicken-Balti pie. I felt confident we could go on and win the game.

The second half started well, the superb interplay between Rusty, Hoolahan, Lappin, and the impressive Stephen Hughes brought back memories of when we passed our way to the 03/04 Division 1 title.

There was one main problem, we failed to create any real chances, with THE GROLT'S 20 yard strike, palmed away by Ankergren all we had to show for our dominance.

Then with about 15 minutes to go, we, perhaps wrongly adopted a 'have what you hold' attitude. And invited on pressure, when perhaps we should have been pushing for the win. This seemed to have gained us a vital point, there were a few hairy moments, a disallowed Snodgrass goal, and a stunning Forster save from the previously absent Beckford.

Then just as we had accepted a draw. Heartbreak, a sliced Forster clearence falls perfectly to Beckford, who agonisingly slotted home, despite Otsemobor's best efforts to bring him down.

I felt empty after the game, we came, outclassed and outsang the 'league favourites'. And all we had to leave to was w****r signs from the Leeds fans, and abuse from the hooligan disguised (although not very well) as a steward.
