Paulton Rovers, known as THE ROVERS are currently eighth in the Southern League Division One South and West. They defeated Chippenham by three goals to nil, in the Fourth Qualifying round, to set up their most famous tie in history. The Rovers play their home games at THE ATHLETIC FIELD (above). Situated on Winterfield Road, in the tiny village of Paulton, close to Bristol. Paulton Rover's gaffer Andy Jones has promised Paulton will take the game to their more illustrious opponents. The Rovers' biggest game in history will be watched by millions all over the game, as it is live on ITV.
AS SOON as Norwich City where pulled out of the hat, a glamour visit to Winterfield Road, nightmares about dodgy refereeing decisions and last minute sucker-punches from postmen have haunted every Norwich fan. On paper our boys in yellow and green should have no problem dispatching the Somerset side, but football is not played on paper, and the upset is something every fan loves ( Apart from the victims). There will only be one set of fans hoping we win, us. Every neutral will be baying for our blood, hence the 12.45 kick off and ITV appearance.
Since Lambo has taken over, he has installed a 'feet on the ground' attitude, so underestimating Paulton is extremely unlikely, but Norwich are really on a hiding to nothing, we can only fail.
For all Canaries fans, this will bring back memories of our third round trip to Tamworth, where KING DION and DARREN 'GOD' HUCKERBY bagged a brace a piece to ward off a hungry non-league side who missed early chances.
I can only pray that this game is a non event and we let down the whole world. Come on boys!!.
