Supersub Stephen Hughes rescued a point for the Canaries in a fantastic game at St Mary's in atrocious conditions. Hughes slid home three minutes after coming on, following Kelvin (EX SCUM) Davis inability to hold a low Chris Martin drive.
Norwich started brightly, and their one touch football was tearing Southampton apart, football that would look more at home if played by another team in yellow. But all of a sudden we forgot that we were not Brazil, and a poor pass from Wesley, found David Connolly who released Adam Lallana, who fired home. OH DEAR.
Fortunately the belief Lambo has installed in this Norwich side meant we knew we could find an equaliser, and after Lloyd James had hacked down Martin. Wesley, who was bored of scoring penalties the traditional way allowed Davis to touch his spot kick onto the post, allowing Hoolahan to tap home the rebound. 1-1.
Journeyman striker David Connolly who always, always, always scores against Norwich did not disapoint this time, curling in a superb strike, giving Fraser Forster no chance. BUGGER. Once again Norwich's spirit and never say die attitude gained them a deserved point. Martin took aim from distance and the conditions combined with Davis's inability led to the ball squirming out of the EX SCUM'S reach allowing Hughes to slide home with virtually his first touch.
A good point which shows we can battle, as well as play the attractive football. Next Stop Brighton at home.
