ALL NORWICH fans must have felt saddened when they heard about the retirement of ex-player Dean Ashton. Although Deano hurt us by joining West Ham, and abandoning our push for promotion. He was arguably one of the most naturally talented players ever to don the yellow and green.
Seeing Deano in a West Ham shirt was like seeing your girlfriend with someone else. But Deano gave us some brilliant times. He was an integral part of our historic 2-0 WIN OVER MANCHESTER UNITED, and almost almost kept us up.
Below are my top 5 moments to remember this Extremely talented canary. GOOD LUCK DEANO
1. 2-3 Carrow Road VS Manchester City, Before the 'lets be having you' fiasco. Deano's superb lob over David James did have us dreaming.
2. 2-0 Carrow Road vs Manchester United, Deano climbed highest to power a header beyond Tim Howard, then laid one on a plate for Leon Mckenzie. Norwich's most famous victory in recent years.
3. 2-1 Carrow Road vs Newcastle United, Having led through a Youseff Safri wondergoal, and had our hearts ripped out by Patrick Kluivert, Deano went straight up the other end to score an emphatic late winner from Thomas Helveg's centre.
4. 3-1 Carrow Road vs Southampton, trailing to Djemal Belmadi goal, Deano decided enough was enough, and an incredible hat-trick won the canaries the game.
5. 3-1 Bramall Lane vs Sheffield United, a brilliant performance from Deano, topped of with a stunning low drive, led to a superb 3-1 win away at league leaders. Colin Warnock's face was all worth it.
